I took this this summer while working out a lake that gets lot of thunderstorms. I really enjoyed watching the different clouds that come over the lake trying to decide what type of storm was going to come out of that. Hail, lightning, heavy rain, etc. There was a few very severe storms that I wished I took pictures of. But this is one that I really enjoyed.

I found this picture on the internet and I was very intrigued by the colors in the trees. I love the back light coming through making the trees silhouetted against the light. I couldn't find the camera information but I would like to duplicate this photo. It looks like it was taken when there was a fire because of the deep reds.

This turtle was taken with a Kodak PlaySport Video camera with the settings of 1/125, f2.8 and ISO 100. I was in Oahu, Hawaii snorkeling when I saw this little guy. Turtles are so cool and they are beautiful to watch swim around the ocean. If I have the chance to go back and take these photos again I would make sure I changed the camera to underwater mode that I didn't know existed until we were back, and I would also try and get a faster shutter speed going. I would love to have another chance to do this sometime soon.

Canon 5D 400mm f/5.6 ISO250 1/2000s Av Priority -1/3EV
This bear image is very clear to me. I really like the fish in mid air as the bear is intent on catching it. The shutter speed worked very well for this image. I really like the water movement in the background. The bears fur is very clear and it looks realistic.

Canon 5D 17mm f/22 ISO100 1.6s Av Priority -1/3EV
The colors in this photo are amazing. I love the different lines of the trees and all the leaves in each plane of the picture. The foreground is covered in yellow leaves and then the midground is a giant boulder in the middle of the river. The only thing I don't really like about this image is the non clarity of the water. Even though it is a river it is really unclear in the foreground and midground of the image. The green branch coming out of the left side is also a bit distracting because it is the only green in the image.

Canon 5DII 17mm f/11 ISO200 1.3s Manual
I really like this image and the abstract of the water going through the pictures. I think the black and white of this image make it stronger because it gives it more of the abstract feel. The settings worked really well because I believe the photographer meant to blow out the right side of the image and that was on purpose.

Canon 5DII 85mm f/1.8 10s ISO100 Manual
I really like this picture but it looks like a photo composite. I don't think that this was all one image and if it was I believe there had to be a lot of photoshopping or this photographer is extremely good. The way the mountains are lit up makes it look like day light where there are the stars in the background challenging that.

Canon 1DIII 28mm f/13 ISO200 HDR
This photo shows the clarity of the thermal feature. The blue is very interesting with the contrast between the bright blue and the snow in the background. The lines in the picture bring your eye through the image because of the different ways the ground has formed by the picture.

Canon 1DIV 840mm f/5.6 ISO400 1/800
This bird image is really clear. I like the different aspects of the foreground being very clear showing that the subject is close to the camera. There also in the background is the more fuzzy out of focus foliage creating the depth of field. The red on the bird also draws the eye into the subject that is very clear and in focus. The branches sort of frame the bird also keeping your eye going from the left bottom corner to the bird and then around bringing your eye all around the image.

Canon 7D 500mm f/4.5 ISO1600 1/320
In this photo I believe that maybe has the ISO turned up a little too much. Then the photographer worked a little too much on clearing up the photo because to me it looks a little fake because it is almost too sharpened. The red on the fish also draws the eye away from the subject.

Nikon D4
The color in the background is very striking. I love the red in the foreground because it brings your eye to the moose and then to the sunset in the corner. The mountains in the background also give this a sense of clear nature and the moose really seems at home in this.

Canon 1DII 500mm f/8.0 1/500
This photo is very striking to me. There is a lot going on inside of this image but the wings of the bird draw your eye down to the eyes and claws of the bird and then the water splashing brings your eye back up. The horizontal lines of the birds wings draw the eye in also.

Nikon D2x 12mm f/6.3 ISO200 1/400
This photo is really interesting to me. I have a little bit of a hard time with the background because it is very bright. I like the big polar bear in the front because it draws my eye into the picture.
